England's Riots: Trainers
This article is about the recent riots in England. The author talks about how we watch with horror and a certain amount of interest as these people break windows and destroy closed stores. Its ferocious and scary and your glad your not there. However there are many bystanders even in England. The police can't control the situation as the young try to outdo one another. They take what they like and keep the loot. Their role is to consume and its more of a point to show that adults cant do anything which is supposed to keep a check on them.
These people in England are rioting both out of concern of what has happened in recent times but also partly to shock the older generations and show them that we, the young population have a voice of our own. They break open stores and take goods such as Trainers (Sneakers) of which very few are produced in England, more like sweatshops in Asia and they pick up the pieces of a crumbling economy and throw the harassed political authority in further disarray.
Its all to really prove a point which is also what the author of this article is doing because the people of England want things to change which in reality, arent changing at all. This article also uses foreshadowing, allegory, tone, imagery and syntax as well as basic sentence structure and figures of speech. It uses POV as well as informal diction. It has a narration sot of rhetorical structure.
